Among the easiest ways to save money is to use the cards that merchants, usually grocery stores, pass out for free to solidify shopper loyalty. At last count we had over 30, due to our travels living in an RV. You don’t have to be an RVer to use them, rare is the store that does not offer them.
I am continually amazed at some people’s reluctance to get these cards. They are free and take about a minute to get from customer service. Perhaps it is the reluctance to give out information, I don’t know.
I do know that you leave big bucks at the checkout stand without using them. It is automatic at our house to first hand over the card to the checker.
For instance when you buy a nice bottle of wine for say $10 you are probably going to save $2 by using the card…some can’t be bothered…me I’ll take the savings.
Another of the easiest ways to save money is to apply for and use an American Express card at Costco, our favorite store to shop and save. Before we go on never get this card or any other card and not pay off your balance every month. Credit card companies make billions in interest every month at rates that would make a loan shark wince. Do not let this be you. No you don’t deserve anything you can’t pay for.
With this free card you get 3% off gas, always cheap at Costco, and 1 to 2 % off everything else. It’s the only credit card Costco will accept. It is using someone else’s money free for a month if you pay it off every month.
The easiest ways to save money include using merchant cards every time you shop. If you add the American Express card from Costco you also enjoy savings every time you use it. Just pay it off every month…no exceptions. Enjoy.
